I've been meaning to add this important tidbit to the hair spray page. But haven't gotten to it yet.

If you wear glasses with an anti-glare coating, be sure to remove them and keep them far away from the area where you're spraying your hairstyle. Hairspray contains ingredients which can erode the anti-glare film, leaving permanent spots on your lenses. With the price of eyeglasses, surely you don't want to be replacing the lenses unneccesarily. This is a simple little tip that will help extend the life of your eyewear.

I have brunette long and wavy hair down to my neck and i would like
to achieve the Mel Gibson look of the late 80's, particulary in the
blockbuster film Lethal Weapon.

Could you give me some tips on how to achieve such a look?

Answer:

Thanks for visiting my site. You say you've got wavy, shoulder length hair. In order to achieve a look like Mel Gibson sported in Lethal Weapon, you need short layers on the top and sides which blend into the back.

For styling, all hair should be directed back from your face which will add some height to the top. It was a classic mullet..."Business in the front, party in the back." The look is quite dated now although if you don't have the top and sides cut quite so short and direct it to a side rather than straight back from the center, it'll update the style while maintaining the general feel.

Of course, the Mel Gibson style is certainly doable, it's just a matter of how hip you want your hairstyle to be. As far as product goes, if your hair is fine to medium textured, use a styling cream or grooming cream. If your hair is thick, use a clay or paste to keep your waves soft and shiny while still offering control.

Use your fingers for styling more than a brush or comb, that way your curls won't become so separated, which can widen the hair style and make it look fuzzy.

Another gallery page dedicated to a fashion icon of our time. It's fitting that the first two pages are devoted to Madonna and Cher as they are two celebrities who've stood the test of time. Both were influential on me when I was in those formative years, especially Madonna.

Music and celebritydom is a fickle industry where one must strive to survive. Hair styles make a powerful statement to the masses about a celeb's worthiness as a memorable name in a melting pot of talent. They define an individual nearly as much as the product they're putting forth. It's interesting to view these galleries and see the early days where the celebs are experimenting with their image and watch them evolve into the fashion icons they've become.
