adding chunks to bleaching, and touching up missed spots

by michelle

last night my friend highlighted my hair, it looks like a complete bleaching. there are some exceptions, a few spot around my forehead, she missed these spots. can i touch up the missed spots, today? also, the bleach. orangish color, isnt to pretty, and adds years to my 36 years of life. what can i do, today, without burning my hair, or ending up with some bold funky pink or purple or green hair. i would like to put some brown chunks, is this possible, and if so, how?

Hi Michelle,

Yes, adding a darker color (using foils) is the best way to disguise a blotchy bleach job. I wouldn't recommend trying to correct it on your own with lightener though, unless you're experienced with using bleach and foils. Adding a darker color is fairly safe. You can use a no-ammonia semi permanent color which strictly deposits color.

See our instructions on highlighting (or lowlighting) hair with foils here.

All the best,
Michelle
