Curly Q
This product has worked wonders for my hair. In the past I've always used products that were geared towards African American hair because that's what I was taught.
There are certain chemicals, such as relaxers, that are made specifically for our hair and it is necessary to stick with it. However for the daily maintenance it's about what works.
I sport a curly afro and the Aveda "Be Curly" products get the job done. This product line delivers the curls, softness, moisture, and reduces frizz even on coarse hair. It's works best on curly hairstyles, and great for African American women who sport their natural hair.
I start with "Be Curly" shampoo and conditioner.
Blot wet hair with dry terry cloth towel.
I try not to shampoo more than twice a week, not necessary for coarse or natural curly hair. Natural oils on your scalp are beneficial.
I spritz my hair with water in between washes and apply "Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer" it works best on damp hair and then I message my scalp lightly with organic coconut oil.
When hair is semi dry to keep curls moisturized, defined and frizz-free I use a diffuser(on low setting)for lift and volume.
For extra height I use a metal hair pick just on the roots, you should not pick your hair all the way out or you will lose the curls on the end.
To keep my hair big and curly on humid days I use a little hairspray after styling.
Before bed I always wrap my hair in a silk scarf to prevent frizz.
Well that's my hair story and I'm sticking to it.
