Back to more natural dirty blonde

How do i go about going back to my natural dirty blonde color. i dyed my hair a dark mahogany brown to get rid of blonde summer highlights and it looked great but now my roots are noticibly lighter than i have my natural color coming in i tried to dye it dark again but my roots are still way to light so i just want to go back to my natural color or at least close so my roots can just come in and blend ... what should i do!

you will not be able to do this yourself!!! the red in your hair contradicts the natural ash in your natural hair. you yourself will never get the red out. its a very difficult process and a hairdresser will have difficulty getting it out as well without damaging your hair.im glad you say getting it CLOSE is ok. you will not get your natural color at the moment. if YOU try this you will have a HUGE mess and will ruin your hair. save yourself time AND money and go to a professional this time and maybe after they fix your color this time you can maintain at home from there.
