Throughout several years of buying online, I've continuously found myself buying beauty products on eBay. Here's why...
I live in Canada. Although many of the big online retailers showcase fabulous offerings, most of them only ship to the Continental United States.
Well... that won't work for me, will it? Or anyone else in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia... rather limiting really.
So, off I go to search for a place where I can get the elusive item shipped to me waaay up here in Canada. ;-) Guess where I always end up. That's right... eBay.
In one instance where I did find the item (an epilator - you know, those little torture devices that tear out unwanted hair?) at an online retailer who shipped to Canada, they wanted about $70 to ship it to me! That's more than the item even cost!

So, I checked eBay and (surprise!) found the exact same epilator. And the shipping was a fraction of what the "other guy" was charging. It seems the shipping is not only more flexible, it's more reasonable too!
The diversity of products on eBay is staggering. And, contrary to my initial beliefs about eBay, many of the items are brand new.
Here's a sampling of the goodies that can be found...
Often times, the seller who has the item I'm looking for is the owner of an online store. These merchants simply use eBay as a way to be visible online and compete with the mega-merchants.
Most of these "small-guys" don't show up in the results from the Search Engines (which are bogged down by the "big-guys") so you may never find them through a traditional Google search.
eBay allows (in fact, expects) buyers to provide direct feedback on a seller after purchasing and receiving their item. This means that you, as a buyer, can read the seller feedback before bidding or purchasing.
The system keeps sellers accountable, which is (to borrow a phrase from Martha) "a good thing!"
Well, there you have it - 4 great reasons to buy . Enjoy!
