Black to light brown?

I dyed my hair black and now want to make it light brown...but it won't change. Do I need to bleach it? I tried "Color Oops" yesterday - which removes the color and made it orange/brown - and when I died it light brown it turned black again!

Should I bleach it then die it blonde to make it light brown???

I was surprised...!

I had been a blonde for over 20 years, Last Christmas my sisters talked me into going brunette. I was so surprised at the reaction I got from co-workers to total strangers, commenting on how beautiful I was. Was it me or my hair? It was my haircolor that added to my beauty. Aweek ago I went a step further and went to dark Mohogany brown. I was shocked at first, but I get stares everywhere I go, and not the funny kind either. Blonde is pretty and sexy but brunettesare that and more! I feel smarter and sexier than I ever have, One tio" Remember to put a little color on your brows or else you wont be able to accept it as real.

Addicted to coloring

If you keep it up you won't have to worry pretty soon all your hair will melt or break off at the scalp.......then you can start all over. There is a reason why we study chemicals for 500 hours in hair school. Go to a professional.

Caution

Just a word of caution. You can't color color, and you are doing a lot of chemical treatments on your hair in a short period of time. If you already have a lot of "red" pigments in your hair, this could be why you got the "orange" color when lifting from dark to lighter.

I wish you good luck with your efforts, and just please be cautious. Remember, it takes a lot out of your hair when you color repeatedly.
