blonde hair looking green

I understand from your home page that my problem is over processing - however what can I do to rinse the green color out on a weekly basis until the new hair grows back in - (I now know to keep the color on the roots only) But I really need to know what would be safe and gentle to use on my hair while I wait for it to get under control
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

build up
by: Anonymous

It is hard to diagnose but there are some treatments to remove build up/well water/chlorine from hair. Go to salon and have a Malibu treatment. There products ..shampoo,conditioners and at home treatments you can purchase. This will also even out the porosity of hair...excellent treatment before color.

Blond Hair turned Green tint
by: Me too!

My problem was I used an ash blonde of Revlon that was different from my previous brand Clariol's golden blonde, and my hair turned a green tint.
I called the phone number on the dye package directions for help the lady told me to use Head and Shoulders shampoo and shampoo it 2 or 3 times at once it does help I waited 2 days and recolored my hair Clariol's golden blonde. I was I chose the wrong shade for my skin and hair tone.
My point is please do call the 1 800 number they offer professional advise

green hair
by: Anonymous

I have been a stylist for 18 yrs, and i really can't recommend an over the counter hair color, only because i am not familar with what is out there, but on the green factor, if it caused from a mineral build up the best thing that i have found is believe it or not, tomato paste! Let it sit on your hair for about 10 min, then shampoo out and the green should wash right out!

Ash Colors
by: Anonymous

Sounds like you must have used an ash colored hair color on your hair...there is hardly anybody that can use these without their hair having a green hue and if your hair is damaged it is much worse. This has happened to me and I wash my hair a few times with a shampoo to remove buildup and wait a few days and color again. Just stay away from ash tones.

picked up base color

I would say,
being blonde, you picked up the base color. you can't leave the product on long with blonde hair if your hair is damaged..it grabs the base color.
