Blonde hair turning black

by Kitty

My natural color is dark blonde. I've colored my hair lighter blonde for years. Lately I've noticed several black hair strands around my temples and my hair color doesn't change the black color. Why is this?

Not turning black

Was hoping a profesional would step forward here for you, but since they haven't...I too, before turning grey, was a medium to dark blonde naturally and I lightened it for years and years and as I aged I too would notice what looked like black strands coming in at the temple area, and sometimes it seemed that even if I concentrated the color on those areas when I was touching up the color, they were still there. Over time they must have lightened with the hair color because I never ended up with long black strands in my blonde hair!! I think you might notice that your roots look a lot darker than you most likely remember your natural color to be. When I stopped coloring my hair (I am maybe 30% grey now mostly up front)the non-grey hair seemed so much darker than what I remembered my color to be years and years ago. Time changes a lot of things!!
