I am a black fifty year old mother of eight six mine two my brothers. four four have gone to college with two still attending.i find the derrogatory comments on this page self hating and pathetic. if the person who wrote the negative stuff is anything other than black then its narrowminded and predudiced., but at least i could blame their comments on ignorance. everything that jack and jill club member said about how this style sets black people back is a load of mess and junk. the people making the most money out here these days are the ones perpetuating stereotypes. the deeper truth is that what these lost sheep see as negative about our people is extremely valuable to the folks who are buying into the sterotype. they love that whole thuged out thing. they love our young mens swagger. they love their style. all to the tune of tens of billions of dollars every year. how much are these fools making these negative comments makin. we dont have to apologize for who we are anymore, or how we choose to wear our hair and dress. those fools are steady tryin to be like white folks when white folks are tryin to be like us. catch up, keep up, and shut up. Ill bet you didn't go on the internet and complain about these kids out here callin themselves punk rockers and painting their hair green and plink.by the way I went to cosmotology school and all i do these days is braid, and for that style i would have pulled between about a hundred and fifty to two hundred dollars. and as long as they are payin like that i'll be perpetuating stereotypes!!!!!

Look for the immature posters below, if the girl likes it, get over it. Who are you to judge others work and dedication? If she wants blue in her hair its not much you or anyone else on this site can do about it. And whoever said the thing about stereotyping? You are idiotic on every level so you need to your ideology together. You basically say Her hair makes her seem like ghetto trash which is not the case. 2 things i wanna say.. I KNOW some a the comments r old but SERIOUSLY all the comments that had some stupid ass immature BULLSHIT 2 say were probably from ONE PERSON tryin to cut 'jessica' down (and WEAK hence: they remained ANONYMOUS). JESSICA u are OFF THE HOOK TALENTED. I braid myself and LOVE what can be done with hair. As far as it bein "thug" the only type of people who would think that are low down stereotypical garbage. that is so mean to say. The people to me who did the braiding they were pretty unique to say a word in the hair in braiding it to make a coool design it is very awesome to do in teh braids the must be really talented to make a word in the braids. So you don't have to be soooo rude! it is probably making the person feel like an idiot you should be nice it isn't nice to make people feel like a failure. What if that was you who had done the braiding and people said that stuff about you how would you feel? thats a question you should think about and imagine you being that person and how it would make you feel you people should really think about what you say before you say it make sure your words won't hurt the other persons feelings to what you said about them. It can be quite surprising how it could effect that person. Some people take a picture of their work and put it on the internet so people can see how much effort they put into their work.And that person might have put it on the internet hoping to get positive comments about their work but only to get nagetive comments. They would feel like they did a horrible job. And then they'll start to flunk school because they feel to humiliated and word would spread and they would be pointing and laughing at the person. so you should really think about what you say on the internet. Because you don't know the person you don't know how they feel. wether their depressed or not depression can lead to suicide. It can effect them ways not any of us know.

It's no wonder why african-americans are continually being stereotyped. This is so ridiculous! It totally lacks REAL creativity. Looks like a kitchen, scratch that, it looks like a front porch hairdo! You can't be serious? Is this what we are teaching our young black children to look like? If so, then what kind of future do they have to look forward to? This style does the best of jobs at perpetrating yet another stereotype of a young black ghetto, thugged out generation. Thanks a lot! Oh, and consider going to a real cosmetology school if you want to learn how to do some hair. WHACK!!!!!!!!

This type of hair style would go over very well with some young children and teens. But it isn't meant for a person who is seeking a career. It's cute if that's your taste, but it also shows a lot of promise as to how far the designer will and can go.

There will always be someone out there that will criticizes someone else goals and efforts, but you can't let it stop you. Continue to do what you're doing, learn all that you can.

Because one day YOU WILL ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM!!! And all of those haters will be doing what they do best. Sitting at their computer. And misspelling their words!

Hopefully they will achieve their goal and GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!.....At least ACT as if you got some education.
