color and cut

I was wondering, is it better to get your hair cut before you color it, or is it better to color you hair first and then get it cut?

It depends what you're having done...

If you are having a dramatic change in length (i.e., cutting several inches off) then it is a good idea to cut it first so you don't have to bother coloring all the hair that is just going to be removed.

Or, if you're having a very dynamic cut done and the color is being designed to set off the cut, then it's best to have the cut done first.

But, if you're just having a trim then your stylist/colorist may color it first and then cut it.

Hope this helps,
