Color Fix or Color Oops?

Current Hair Color

Current Hair Color

I've had my hair bleached and it is currently a blonde tone. I want to color it the lightest platinum blonde (so it will resemble silver gray). Would it be safe to use a product like Color Fix or Color Oops to take the current color off and then add the lighter color? Which do you think is the better product after having hair bleached; the Color Oops? Or the Color Fix. The Color Oops doesn't list bleach or peroxide in it's ingredients; but the Color Fix lists Hydrogen Peroxide in the thir step. Also, is it safe to use on roots that have grown out or will it totally damage the new growth? Should it be brushed on only where there is color? Also, after I've removed the color, what would be the best to put the knew color on? Would you use just toner after using that product? Or would you use a box and mix both bottles from the hair color box? Thank you.

GIRL!!!! DO NOT DO YOUR HAIR YOURSELF!!! you asked if this will damage your roots?!! thats not the hair you should be worried about!!! its those ends that you have done sooo much to! all the things that you are mentioning are questions a professional should ask. you do not know what you are doing and are going to make a HUGE mess and you are NEVER going to get the color that you are looking for on your own. you probably will have ugly fried hair that you are going to end up cutting off because you made a mess!! go to a professional!! if you cant afford that, go to a cosmetology school. at least that will be supervised by someone who knows what they are doing!!!

Not Fried, but Thanks.

Thanks for your advice. I've already been to a professional and dropped a butt-load of money that I really couldn't afford. I still didn't get what I wanted or asked for. I was tempted to (and still am) to do it myself. My hair isn't fried and doesn't look bad. It's just not the color I wanted.

Not Rocket Science

If you've bleached the hair previously, and added a color on top of that, then yes, you can use Color Oops to take out the color. You didn't ask about deep conditioning; furthermore, I can't possibly know the condition of your hair through a computer, so I won't insult your intelligence by lecturing you on breakage and split ends.

Killer Strands Blog, run by a group of hair professionals in L.A., has a plethora of information on the science of hair coloring. You can absolutely learn to do it yourself. It's not rocket science. It just takes the will to learn, much like anything else. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Best of luck to you. :)
