If your goal is to restore the health of your hair then more blonding isn't the best option. Here are a few possibilities...

1) If you're thinking of going with a brunette that's darker than your natural shade, then a semi-permanent color will work fine and is the easiest on the hair.

2) If you're thinking of a lighter brown that is lighter than your natural color, then you will need to use permanent color after the roots grow in and cover the blonde on the ends in the meantime with a semi-permanent in the shade you'd like.

When you're using the permanent shade to match the regrowth to that semi-permanent, keep in mind that the permanent formula will pull more warmth, and if you're trying to neutralize a natural ginger color, stay away from any 'warm' shades.

The opposite is true when selecting a semi-permanent for the ends. You'll want to add some warmth back to the hair... not too much, but something 'golden.'

* If your hair is extremely damaged and over-porous, you may need to 'fill' it before adding any darker colors. Here's more about the colorback process.

3) OK, this one is obvious but I can't resist.. you could move back toward your natural ginger! Beautiful haircolor. :)

Hope this helps,
Michelle
