It Depends...
by: Michelle

Hi Justin,

It really depends on what type of coloring you plan on doing. A semi or demi-permanent color would be fine as the peroxide level in these products is relatively low. Permanent color isn't a good idea, unless it's a deposit only color (using no more than 10 volume peroxide) and bleaching OR high-lift coloring is a definite no go.

Your results will be unpredictable because of the porosity change from the harsh chemicals used in chemical straighteners. More porous hair absorbs the blue pigments from color more readily than the warm (red, yellow) pigments, so you could end up with a muddy looking color, depending on what you use. Stay away from ash tones altogether.

You may also want to select a color that is one shade lighter than the results you're looking for.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Michelle

Really???
by: Anonymous

Hi there!!!
I just read your comment and, if I got it right, you said that after a chemical straightening hair colour may turn out ashy??? Because I had a straightening treatment last week and then I wanted my hair an ashy light brown. My hair was it's natural dark brown colour and they turned red...and it doesn't seem to go away either...
