Pre-wash Treatments

Styling Products for Curly Hair

Gel or Styling Spray

Aveda Styling Spray, Sap Moss	A flexible but firm hold to control curls and waves. This product will add shine and definition to your curls without the "crunchy" feel some styling sprays produce.
Biolage by Matrix Defining Elixir	A texturizing jelly that provides curl control and softness to your style. Defines curls, smooths frizz and creates natural movement and shine without stiffness or weight.
Aveda Confixor Liquid Gel	A great liquid gel to control frizz and define curls. This product is very strongly scented, so try one of the others if you have an aversion to perfumed products.

Styling Cream

Bumble and bumble Styling Creme	Adds body to fine or medium textured curly hair while defining and conditioning curls. A very little bit of this product will do the trick for all-day manageability and volume.
Bumble and bumble Grooming Creme	Calms and defines thick, curly hair while smoothing frizz and boosting shine. Start with just a tiny blob so you don't overdo it. This product is great for taming unruly curls.

Pomade

Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade	This anti-humidity hair pomade repels moisture from the hair and smooths frizz. Great for use in humid climates.

Glossing Liquids

Usually silicone based, these products have no hold factor but are very effective for reducing frizz and adding shine and definition. For more hold, mix with a styling cream or gel. These three are the best of the best when as far a glossing shine products go.
