Dying my dyed black hair blonde

blonde i usually have, versus black i have now

blonde i usually have, versus black i have now

About a year and a half ago I started bleaching my hair blonde every 3 months or so. I cut it so often and its pretty short and it's also super healthy other than the dying and its really really thick. Well, about a month and a half ago I dyed my hair black for a musical. Musical is over now and I want to be blonde again. The black has washed out a lot so its a spotty brownish color. The top few inches are roots, then the middle portion is still shiny and nice because its been dyed less. But then the tips are kind of dingy and dull. I need a professional opinion.

black to blonde

The dark pigment won't allow another color to lift it even if its washed out a lot. You need a salon to perform a foil to blend it out gradually so the hair isn't compromised. If its all bleached out it will most definitely be warm or orange in spots. Then it would have to be toned. I always suggest in my salon, to blend out the dark with a hilift foil and tone in between with a dark blonde or light brown. Looking at your skin and original color that will work. Bleaching will destroy your hair and it won't have any natural highlights, just one tone or several unwanted tones of gold/orange. Seek a color specialist in your area.
