Dying roots

by kristyn

Approx 8 weeks ago I had my hair highlighted....my hair is naturally light brown. She put heavy blonde highlights in and a little bit of bleach streaks through out so I am now blonde. Problem I am having is my roots....I would like to know if there is a way besides going to a salon to dye my roots so I can wait a little longer to do a full weave of highlights. What should I use....is it easy...bad to do on already highlighted hair? Appreciate any help!

If your plan is to have your hair highlighted again soon, then doing an all-over blonde color is not a good idea. For starters, it would be difficult to achieve a tone that blends well with the different tones of highlights you currently have.

A better solution would be to go back for highlighting when you feel you're due, but ask your stylist to weave in some lowlights in a shade close to your natural color. That way, you'll have fewer highlights and the regrowth won't seem so dark in contrast, so you'll find yourself highlighting less often.

Hope this helps,
