Going darker than I was before

Hi I need help, I am naturaly a medium brown but I got blond highlights and now I want to dye me hair a darker brown than it was before. Does anyone have advice for me I could really use some thanks.

Hi Felicity,

Going darker is generally straightforward. Just depositing color. Where things can go wrong is when the hair has been lightened to the point of being over-porous and then picks up the blue/grey hues from the darker color. To prevent this, make sure you don't use an ash tone. And if your hair is very porous, take a look at our article on doing a color-back, which involves filling the hair, etc.
