Internal and External Solutions to Thinning Hair
Hair loss products range from topical solutions to nutritional supplements and prescription drugs. This page covers the best of what's available today and the truth about how they work.
The 2 drugs approved by the FDA are Finasteride and Minoxidil
Finasteride is found in Propecia and Proscar.
The drug was originally developed to combat prostate problems, but researchers noted it's ability to halt hair loss and ran with it.
Finasteride can have sexual side effects and is transported through sperm, which can cause birth defects in babies.
Minoxidil is the active ingredient in Rogaine, which has proven to be about 25% effective in re-growing hair. Problem is, once you stop using the product, all new hair growth falls out
as well as any hairs the Rogaine prevented from falling out during the course of use.

Wigs and Integration Hair Pieces
Completely cover your own hair, or amplify what you've got using an integration system. I've included links to a few online salons, but if you're thinking of this as a serious, long term solution, look for a specialist in your area.
I'll be on the lookout for quality professionals to recommend in the future. In the meantime, perhaps try one of the less expensive versions offered through these merchants before you decide whether to invest in a custom made piece.

zinc combined with vitamin b6 inhibits the conversion of testosterone to DHT (the culprit responsible for androgenetic alopecia)
Broccoli - A chemical produced when the body is digesting broccoli has been found to inhibit DHT growth.
Brussels sprouts and kale may also provide benefits.
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) - Necessary for collagen synthesis. MSM is found naturally in foods only when eaten raw. It is destroyed with even the slightest heat or dehydration, and so is lacking from the average diet.
