Options for long straight guys hair?

Hey, I have medium-long hair and would like to keep it that way at least for the time being. However I do not feel satisfied with the way it has been turning out lately. When I try to use gel to add some texture to my hair, it falls out within a short period of time (about 10-20 min) so it seems hardly worthwhile. Also, I want to try to keep my sides down so I don't have that "umbrella" look, but I'm not sure what products would be best for doing that.

Hi, I'm really bored with my hair style - at the moment, it is about an inch or two past my shoulders, poker straight and blonde (both natural). my hair is quite fine so it looks kind of lank and lifeless at the moment. I also have quite a round face so I think i am limited to styles! I have a partly grown out side-swept fringe but I wear glasses so it sometimes sits a bit weird on my frames! I don't know what I want to have done to it, I don't know whether to have some style cut into it while it is long or go for a shorter style... all i know is that i want to keep it blonde! Please help!

Im naturally quite dark brown, but have always had my hair streaked blonde. a couple of months ago i got sick of the blonde with black looking regrowth and got a hairdresser to tone it down. after three trips in 24 hours i walked out with a darker blonde colour with some brown CLUMPS (shady style of streaking) and now it has started to fade and the regrowth is back. Now im not sure if i should get it coloured dark brown with some lighter brown highlights (adriana lima style haha) or what. im scared ill miss blonde and think it looks ugly / ordinary (i looked really ordinary with my natural brown hair, i thought). please help / give suggestions, ill attach photos of my hair stages. thanks!
p.s. what do you think of darker blonde / light brown hair at the top that goes into lighter blonde near the ends??

My hair is naturally a dark blonde colour, but it hasn't been its natural colour for years. I have had it bright blonde for quite a few years now but am getting annoyed with my roots becoming visable so quickly and they are so noticeable. My problem is, i have really bad fly-away hairs after i straighten it, and it gets all frizzy after too. I really have no idea what to do with my hair. I have been growing it out for Locks of Love and so I'll be cutting off at least 8 inches. (Three stripes on the shirt in the picture are about one inch.) I am 22 and will graduate from college in May but my graduation portraits are in February so I need to get it done pretty soon. I'm looking for something that is more mature but not to old looking... it should say, "I'm 22 but I've got my stuff together!" I'm on a student budget so I can't be in the salon all the time. Also I am getting my degree in radiologic technology which means I'm doing clinicals at a hospital and I work with patients everyday so I can't wear my hair down at this length or it would drag on people when I reach over them, I need something in the just-below-shoulders range or shorter if I want to wear it down at work. I'm open to any suggestions on length. I would also like something with bangs to hide my largeish forehead but I have no clue what would look good on me. I have never been told what my face shape is so I don't know what would flatter it.

My hair is fairly fine, straight and has a hard time holding a curl. My hairline has been called an 'M' or mini-widow's peak. The pictures are just washed and air-dried with zero product (and zero make-up!). I use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner and dry using a round brush normally but I never seem to get much volume which I would like. That is my natural hair color, but I'm not sure its the best color for me, I feel like it washes me out.

I've never been told what my hair needs and what suits my hair type and face shape so I'm really excited about what everyone here will come up with!

I have very thick, wavy hair. I had it short for years and deciding to grow it out for my wedding. Hated it along the way and kept cutting. Now it is almost long enough to have an updo - but when it is down it looks like a mushroom. The last time it was cut there were some layers. Stylist said to keep it long on top to weigh it down and avoid the mushroom. It is a few inches below jaw when straight. Yet I feel like that technique made it worse. If I do not straighten it - it curls at ends and sides and looks like a wavy mushroom. Help - I want to find a way to look fuller on top and thinner at bottom before I end up cutting all my hair off before my wedding.
