What To Expect From A Hair Makeover
These models received the full treatment, just the way a hair makeover should be done...
Consultation -- Look at photos with your stylist. Give them a chance to evaluate your hair type and ask you questions about your lifestyle and needs.
Preliminary hair cut -- If you're having a lot of length removed, your stylist may get some of it out of the way before beginning the coloring process (no sense coloring a bunch of hair that's going to be cut off).
Foil highlights and/or hair color -- Any "hair makeover" must include some sort of hair color... even if it's just a few highlights to brighten a mousy blonde shade, or a gloss overlay to boost shine.
Hair shaping and finishing -- Once the color has processed and been removed, your stylist will begin cutting the final hair shape. This can involve both wet and dry cutting and advanced techniques to create specific effects (i.e., razor shaping, slicing for dimension and/or thinning, etc).
Styling -- A good hair stylist will give you tips as they're styling your hair. This is especially important for those who have chosen a completely new style.
Watch your stylist's hands carefully. Pay attention to the specifics (i.e., how they hold the tools, sectioning, angles) and listen closely to any advice or tips they offer. You'll be glad you did when you're back at home styling it yourself!
