Hair texture after coloring

okay so i have dyed my hair alot of times but at regular 6 week intervals or unitll my roots get bad and my hair has never felt dry or anything so today i got my hair done and its a lighter red than usual and my stylist used some strange product and now it dry and feels like straw. i have washed it but do you think i should was it again or should i buy a hydrating shampoo and stuff
i dont want wierd textured hair
