Hair wax has a light to medium hold factor. It's great for creating texture and, depending on the product, shine. Hair wax ranges from slightly thicker than a pomade to the newly developed spray waxes that create a roughed-up texture to the hair.
This spray wax is great for adding volume to fine hair and creating that oh-so-hot "messy look" quickly and easily.
It defines curls and vamps up texture in wavy hair and creates a fullness in fine hair. This product works best on straight to slightly wavy hair and is not great for hair that's prone to frizziness.
A great hair wax for adding texture, smoothing frizz and adding shine to hair.
Create separation in your style whether you're sporting a chunky, modern texture or defining curls or waves.
Make sure the product is emulsified (spread around your fingers evenly) for best results.
Putty is also light, but slightly tacky for more hold. This product is one of my favorites! Great for use before and after drying your hair.
It works really well for mens hair... provides a bit of hold while adding a lot of shine and definition.
Clays and pastes are great for hold and maleability. The hair can be moved around to create a piecey texture, or simply slicked back for a polished look without creating a shiny or crunchy helmet.
Pastes help soften and control thick, unruly hair and add texture to both thick and medium textured hair. These products do tend to be too heavy for fine hair.
It's a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo regularly if you're a fan of hair wax and the like. Extended use can cause a buildup, making the hair limp and dull looking. Buildup will also decrease the effectiveness of products despite your best styling efforts.
