half baked perm

I've had good to bad perms for years...but this one is half & half! the top is pretty, (although it's pretty dry!) but the lower HALF of my head is just straight! Will it just KILL it to go back to the salon and have them re-perm the bottom only so they match? I can't wear it like this and it's too much to cut off...
