Model
by: Kelly Nunn Martin

I am 52, and I LOVE my Salt & Pepper hair. I modeled for a hair show last year and they used a "semi-permanent" color. My lovely ash/dark S&P is still brownish in areas, so long afterward. Also my hair is resistant to stripping the natural color, so when I ADDED gray streaks to brighten my face, it turned yellow, and looked like I was trying to add blonde, which was not a good look for me. Yellow tones make me sallow!

I SO wish the color industry would wake up and realize there is big money in helping women my age TRANSITION to the natural gray state, rather than hide it!!!I think the gray hair on a fit older woman is very sexy, and I have found so much work as a model BECAUSE I am gray and I am NOT trying to hide the fact. I think my face looks younger with the Salt & Pepper, and older with "perfect, young" hair.

Wake up, hair industry!!!

Give us a way to BRIGHTEN the gray and add a bit MORE that looks natural, not yellow.

Please hear our prayer. Amen.

Well number one grey hair has no pigment in it so if you just put a grey dye on your hair it would not turn it grey.......... So I would honestly recommend you finding someone to to WEAVE bleach through your whole head and have them bleach your hair to a pail white color then after the wash the bleach out of your hair before they wash it have them put a toner from Shades EQ and I would recommend using 09B ( sterling ) and let it sit on your hair for a min or so but just have your stylists watch it and make sure she don't rinse it too soon........ This should help you out so that you can let your natural grey grow but at will help you get the look you want for the time being
