Go with semi-permanent
by: Michelle

Hi Janet,

To tone down the orange color, get a semi-permanent, ASH or NEUTRAL toned brown color and apply it straight over top. Semi-permanent is important because it doesn't have the higher level of peroxide that permanent color does, which lifts your hair enough to expose the underlying pigment.

Check out this page on hair color chemistry for details on underlying pigments.

All the best,

One N Only colorfix
by: Anonymous

I heard this is a great way to get rid of unwanted hair color. It's about 17 dollars but it's better than buying tons of hair dyes for it just to turn into a disaster. It got great reviews on Folica but they don't have it. This website has it and for cheaper. If you have long hair or the hair color is very different from your natural hair color you should get two boxes or use two treatments if it doesn't get the product completely out. Don't use the Clairol version I heard it takes your hair out. Just go to beautymotion.com and search colorfix. Hope it helps!
