BEFORE AND AFTER

This is an update from How do I get my haircolor to match my greying roots

After giving the same hair stylist 3 tries and spending over $200.00, I came here for advice. I wanted my greying hair colored as close as possible to my greaying roots. You can see the roots color in the BEFORE photo. If you look back on my first entry under "How do I get my haircolor to match my greying roots", you'll see the progression of photos and frustration I went through trying to get the stylist to do what I was asking for instead of what she thought looked good and would look better on me! I am writing this and uploading photos for those of you who gave advice. By chance, I met a stylist who knew my daughter and told me she could do exactly what I wanted, after being told by the stylist I was going to couldn't be done on a permanent basis! I didn't believe she could do it, but took a chance anyway, figuring it couldn't get much worse. It took that poor girl 5 hours to get the result I wanted, but she did it; and only charged me $60.00. I gave her $75.00 and would have given her a bigger tip if I had more money. I was so happy to look in the mirror and see how well the color matched my roots that she didn't even touch; I was almost ecstatic. I will no longer believe a stylist that tells me they can't do what I want! I have not yet cancelled my Feb appointment with the stylist that didn't give me what I wanted. I'm almost tempted to keep it and walk in to show her that it could be done and was! I'm just happy it was actually done the way I wanted and asked for. Now, I'm hoping the color stays because I know the color can be affected by lots of things. I've washed and dried it several times using Aveda and it seems to be okay right now...yay. Also, I was afraid after what I put my hair through and being older, I would either lose a lot of hair or I wouldn't be able to put a comb through it. I feel so lucky...neither has happened.

OMG NANCY!! im so happy that you found someone to get what you wanted in the city you live in!! realize that though someone can do color well, doesnt mean they can cut hair well. i hope you have a great ongoing relationship with your new bff.you got the bargain of the century!! imagine how many haircuts that person could have done in 5 hours and how much money they lost by taking care of you. if you are on a budget as it seems, make some cookies or baked goods and something and share your appreciation with your new stylist. you will both feel appreciation! hairdressers never eat! we never have time to leave the salon and homecooked stuff is wonderful. thats my opinion.
