How long to wait before re-dyeing after using temporary hair dye.
by Jilly
I coloured my hair 4 days ago with DIY temporary hair dye that is supposed to wash out after 28 washes. i've washed my hair 4 times after, and the color has been fading significantly, i now have more than one color in my hair, with my roots showing more red then the rest of my hair.
Before this last dye, my hair was an orangey toned brown. The dye i bought, L'oreal's Casting Creme Gloss in Terracotta, turned my hair a deep purplish red, and then after a few washes the roots are now a brownish red. The lengths of my hair have almost returned to the orangey toned brown i had before, but it's still a little darker.
I want to redye it with L'oreal's Excellence Creme, which is a permanent dye, in Dark Red Brown (This is the color i want and is very close to the color of the temporary dye). How long should i wait before i do this? And what will the result be like? Will my hair color still be uneven? This permanent dye contains ammonia while the temporary dye i used doesn't.
Any advice?
