How to create this wedding hairstyle

Please help me create this amazing hair!

Please help me create this amazing hair!

I have long hair, about 8 inches beyond my shoulders - which I thought would make doing my hair for my wedding easier! Little did I know, my hairstylist doesn't know what to do with all my hair...and cannot create the look that I want. I was curious if anyone on here could help me give her directions to do the hairstyle in this picture, which I adore! I would be the happiest bride in the world, if I could have this hairstyle :) My wedding is in a week though, and I have one more practice session with my stylist on Wednesday, the 30th - so any help quickly would be beyond greatly appreciated!

Wedding style...
by: Michelle

Hi Laura,

Setting the hair in medium rollers (with setting spray on each section) is the best way to get the curl you need for this style. After the rollers are set, remove them and let the hair cool for a few minutes (the cool shot on a blowdryer works well - use a diffuser to keep from blowing out the curl though).

Then, a bit of light backcombing throughout (near the roots, not the ends) will create a good base to support the style. Loosely brush over the surface of the hair and start forming sections into waves and swirls and pinning them into place.

This style has the elongated shape, created by pinning the bottom curls up about mid-strand and letting the rest dangle down the neck. The veil is secured underneath that bottom section so that the curls cascade down on top of it.... a beautiful choice for a wedding hairstyle!

The separation of each section is important for this style. Even the sections that are brought back from the front are clearly defined, separated from the section above/below it. I hope your stylist is able to craft you a similar style.

All the best,
Michelle
