my hair is currently black but i bought a medium ash blonde what colour will it turn

 Black Hair?

My opinion & 20 yrs. experience of doing hair, if your hair is "truly" black, it will probably lift some of your natural haircolor and leave somewhat of red tone but if it is dyed black it won't do anything. You'll need bleach to lighten anymore than that.
