I got these really bad layers in my curly/wavy hair?

So I told my hairstylist I wanted my thick wavy hair thinned out a little bit, and she cut super short layers, like at my jawline, while the rest of my hair is to the middle of my back. She only cut these layers on one side of my head too. They're really curly, while the rest of my hair is wavy, and stick out horribly.

Is there a way I can get them thinned out WITHOUT MAKING THEM SHORTER? Because she "thinned them out" but instead cut parts of it even shorter, so now it's all uneven too.

I tried straightening my hair last night and it looks like I have short, uneven hair with long hair extensions in. It's so bad.

Hi:)
Well, about 2 months ago, around Easter, I told my hair stylist that i wanted LONG LAYERS...but instead she gave me short, choppy, dry layers that, just like your situation, stick out terribly! While I wait out the growing process, I use this method~
1) Wash and condition hair as normal.
2) Comb out hair(DO NOT BRUSH, it will make them more poofy!)
3) Use either a curl cream/gelor mousse to tame and/or tone down the layers and the rest of your hair.
4) Then, run your fingers through your hair and pat damp with towel.
5) Right before you go to bed, while your hair is still damp, braid your hair tightly. This will bind the hair together and make the bad layers seem less noticeable.
6) In the morning, remove your hair from the braids and finish with a hair product designed for curls/waves.

Do this until your hair has grown out enough to your liking and good luck! :)

lolz exact same thing happened 2 me 2

wooow the exact same thing happened to me last weekend it realllly sucks i know but what i'm doing is just waiting for them to grow out which will take about a million years. But currently I am just pinning back the uneven layered part and wearing my hair down... its the best I can do for now.
