I want to dye my hair jet black and then get blond highlights

this is what am hoping my hair will look like

I have long light brown hair, I was thinking of dyeing it myself jet black and then going to the solon, and getting blond highlights but I was wondering if the blond will dye on the black?? or should I just do it all at once???

I think it would look HOT!!! You look awesome in short hair.. get a razor cut(no Scissors) all over, like a shag look with points on the ends and maybe do ONLY The TIPS in BLONDE.. girl, you could slick it back, get messy,tousled bed look.. different angles, your skin color is sooo pretty.. you could do the bad ass look or the soft, innocent look, veristile you are!

Make sure what shade you really want.

If you are going by that picture, the hair looks more of a level 4 or 5, which is around a dark to med.dark brown. Jet black is a 1 level, plus jet black stains the hair which makes it hard to lift to a light blonde. Go to a stylist, which has color swatches to put up to your face, so you can pick the shade you really want.
