I washed with Tide

by Penny from Chicago

First I dyed my hair with a clove colored semi perm. too dark. so I then dyed it two days later with a permanent medium golden brown, still too dark, so I washed it with Tide and it's no lighter.
How long do I have to wait, if at all, to dye my hair again? I mean since I washed it with Tide is there a waiting period? I'm wondering since if I used Pantene the night before they have to use some kind of pre wash before dying I'm sure there is something you have to do if you used Tide!

tide?

first what possessed you to wash your hair in tide, all it does is make your hair brittle, if your hair is dark, real dark and you want it a lot lighter then buy the lighting kit by clariol and use it, i have and it works, then use any color you want

TIDE??

Good lord woman you just stipped your hair of all natural oils and made it brittle. I suggest waiting until you have deep conditioned it at least twice before attempting to dye it again . And Please never use detergent on your hair again. It's for Laundry.

Is this the web version of Candid Camera? I think you should not consider coloring or lightening you hair yourself. I don't mean to sound mean but this reads like an accident looking for a place to happen. Sorry.

Sounds okay to me

I think you tried the right thing myself..Have known several other that have done the same..Tide will NOT fry your hair but dry it out if you use it often..Sometimes if you just need a LITTLE striping of color one time is fine..However since you tried it and it didnt help The only real soulotion is to wait and let it fade or go to someone that has the knowledge to lighten it and apply the correct color you are looking for.. Good luck to you.....

oops

There is a product called Oops that you can use to remove hair dye. It works best if used right after you color your hair, but it might be worth a try and definately would be easier on your hair than Tide.
