I'm scared if I die my hair, it want go back to natural blonde

I want toput red highlights in my natural blonde hair but I heard if a blonde dies their hair it will change to brown permantly. Is thi true? I don't want to ruin my hair color because it's unique. Help PLEASE!

No, the dye won't affect new growth. Some people lighten their hair and then think the roots look like their normal color is much darker than they remember against the chemically lightened hair. And, as hair grows, the natural color can fade so the overall color appears lighter than the very new growth, but is blends from roots to tips. Virgin hair is actually quite a bit lighter at the ends than the root area. But I have to say, if your hair is so unique, why add red highlights? People get into trouble when they don't end up liking the end result and then they put more and more stuff on their hair to correct the problem.
