well this all just depends.


if you want seriously long hair, like down your back, your natural hair should at least be to your shoulders, then you would need to cut the extensions and make it look very layered so you wouldn't be able to tell where the extentions start.

but, it you just want your hair to be on your shoulders or only a couple inches past, then you only need as much hair that is needed to cover the removable extension clips or temporary extension bonds.

again, this al just depends. your hair texture matters alot. the thicker the better, because you will be able to hide the extensions.

i personally love the clip in extentions, and i hide them very well with my thick layered hair.
