Lightening my hair

by jazlyn
(toronto canada/ london uk)

Ive dyed my hair jet black numerous times (its originally dark brownish black. Anyway it's been a year since i've dyed it black and now i want it light brown!!! ive baught blonde hair dye in hopes of lightening it and it has gone a few shades lighter- more so on the top of my head then the bottom half of my hair (Which is understandable). Should I just keep dying it with blonde till i get the shade of brown i want? will this work??
or do u think i should buy a hair color removal like color oops and go see a professional? most proffessionals say id have to chop my hair off a substantial amount if i want to lighten it (using bleach) and i refuse to do this...

you do NOT have to cut your hair off! the color remover should work on the dark part that has all the black buildup. you could also use bleach on those ends for just a little while. lighten it just a little then put the color you want on. dont try to lift it to the color you want, cause thats not gonna happen. lift and then color.
