I was told by a stylist that blood pressure medication makes it hard for hair to absorb color, is that true?

color pressure meds

In the world of color anything is possible . While meds more often wreck havoc with perms I do have clients that pose interesting challenges in color penatration .Sometimes i have to up the strength of developer and or use a shade or so darker to acheive results, or modify timeing . A salon clairifying treatment before color may be an option but I prefere to leave the natural oils in the hair before coloring . A test strand will answer all the varieables and allow proper color selection, timeing ,and results . So dont let worries about color raise your pressure ,find a stylist willing to spend the extra time and smile .

blood pressure meds

I started on blood pressure meds last year and have had no problems at all with my coloring that I've been doing for the last 12 or so years.

Here's a little tip for you if this is the 1st time you're coloring your hair. I had very dark brown hair and wanted to go red. I went to a wig shop and tried many many different colors on until I had found "THE ONE" and took it to my hairdresser and she had combinded 2 WELLA color products together and after 3 or 4 trials of mixing these colors,( a little more of one, less of the other) I had my gorgous color! I got the formula to this day! Good luck and go for it!
