Nano Keratin Gold by Research in Beauty
by Alexis
(Austin, Texas)
I am like Sampson about my hair, so although the chemical hair straightening trend has been on my radar, I have been hesitant to give it a try. I mean, in Texas you need help to combat humidity-destroyed hair, but I don’t like the idea of bathing myself in formaldehyde either. There really had to be a breakthrough in the technology before I could get on board. And leave it to my stylist to find the right product for my totally processed, colored, stressed-out hair. God bless her.
My stylist talked into trying Nano Keratin Gold by Research in Beauty, which is a new, non-toxic straightener. I have read that several products on the market 10 times the amount of formaldehyde that the FDA deems safe, and that freaks me out. She assured me that Nano Gold was the real deal – totally formaldehyde free and non-toxic. According to my goddess of a hair guru, Nano Gold is safe to use on pregnant women. I remember how unsexy I felt pregnant, and I wish something like Nano Gold had been around back then. Sometimes a little spa time and good hair product can make all the difference in how a girl feels about herself.
So I gave it a shot. It took a couple of hours to apply, and I have to tell you how nervous I was. My stylist sectioned out my hair as if she were going to color it, then applied the product from root to tip. My gal was able to apply the product without gloves and it could touch my scalp – two items she noted that I wouldn’t have noticed myself, but this goes to the safety and quality of the product. Also, there weren’t any fumes like a perm has. It just processed and then she washed, dried and straightened my hair. It has been stick straight perfection ever since.
The results of this Nano Gold treatment are amazing and there was really nothing to the process. I only have to have a treatment every three months, and I can totally keep having my hair colored and not worry about damage or breakage. I am going to be a Nano Gold addict now because of how fantastic and frizz-free this stuff has made my hair. My hair looks and feels like silk without all the products, time and tools I used to employ to get my Jennifer Aniston look.
