im the bonde (obvs lol)

I'm 21 and i have never done anything with my hair. It is naturally blonde, long, thin and straight. But as i have got older the colour has got duller and it is pretty thin and lifeless. I am thinking of a change for the first time. Something that will give it abit more volume and the colour abit brighter, but i do like it long. Any suggestions......??

Don't change a thing as long as possible

Hair coloring processes ( even the best ones) damage your hair. You also rarely get the "look" you want since the processes are finicky even when professionals do it. Appreciate your naturallly bonde hair as long as you can!

Without sounding too negative, I have not been overly impressed with my professional hair color.

Keep!

Keep it natural. It looks great and once you dye your hair, you are going to have to maintain it for a really long time. I wish I never did anything to mine. If you want change maybe do something with the cut; add some bangs or more layers.

I love your hair however I understand when you are coming from with the desire to add volume and lighten your hair. I am happy you want to keep the length and would not advise anything different other than a few long layers which would help add volume when styled correctly. I would do a few long layers first - depending upon your stylist experience level it might be time to find the best stylist in your city for 1- long hair and 2 - blonde bolor keep in mind most high end salons are departmentalized to ensure specialized service so do not fret if you have 2 different stylist. Also unless the stylist is male I have found the blondes do better with blonde color. With that said a female stylist with longer hair is more likely to understand how to keep your long length with adding volume. I would suggest getting a cut and style first tor volume (get product styling suggestions) and then if you still want to go lighter start with a few small highlights around the face. Most importantly research to find a good stylist first but keep in mind the most advertised salon in town does not mean the actual stylist will always live up to the level for your hair type.....you are special so find thay special stylist who youcan trust and will work with you for long term to ensure you look your best.
