Keep it simple
by: Anonymous

Being a new mom you are pressed for time, tired, and I'm guessing, a ponytail queen. When I was a new mommy I made the mistake of going with a short cut thinking it would make life easier, instead I had a brand new style that had to be blown out every day or I looked like a slob. Instead of making the same mistake, embrace the straight. Pin a few sections of hair back and leave the rest down. It's classy, very easy to do, and is flattering on almost everyone. And please don't make the mistake of running out and getting your hair chopped while you are exhausted and crazy with new mommy hormones...you'll just feel worse in the end. Good Luck.

Styling techniques
by: Michelle

Hi Carrie,

There are several things you could do, given the length and condition of your hair. Layers would definitely liven things up a bit, but you'd have to look at some new styling techniques in order to keep the frizzy effect from happening again.

This page has some great tips for styling hair to bring out the natural wave that MOST people have in their hair. The styling is simple and the effect is unique to each head of hair, depending on the character of your individual curl pattern AND the shape that your stylist creates when layering your hair.

Another thought is to add a fringe to your hair. I can see you with quite a heavy, brow skimming bang, either cut blunt, straight across the forehead, or swept across to one side, depending on the look you're going for.

Just a few suggestions.

To get a good idea of what you'd look like in a number of different hairstyles, check out an online virtual hairstyle service like The Hairstyler. Keep in mind, though that hair texture plays a big role in your results, so not every style you see yourself in may be realistic for your hair.

All the best,
Michelle
