Permanent Straightening Methods

Hey. My main problem is that im almost 19 and i look like 13, so i've heard that a short hair cut makes you look older. So i want to go for a medium lenght bob. My hair is thick, it's lightly curled, but it's super puffy and spongy, so if i cut it too short im going to look like I have an afro, so i want to permanently straighten it before getting the hair cut.
So i want to know what methods there are, and what would be the best to do. I have virgin hair, so it's not damaged at all.
Thanks for the advice.

this actually works

ok, the way that I would do this is get a japanese straight perm. It keeps your hair sleek and dead straight for about 9 months. 2 of my friends have gotten them, one had frizzy and wavy hair, the other had really thick, curly, afro-like hair, and both or their hair is completely straight with minimal frizz. They look great! But for 3 days after you get it you cant put it behind your ear, put it into a ponytail, or anything like that otherwise it will leave a kink in it. They are rather expensive, it depends on the hair, but it makes your hair shiny and straight. after 3 days, you can do whatever you want with your hair, ponytail, shower, you can even curl it. It acts just like normal hair, except ultra-straight. Thats my advice. Hope this helps!

Have a look at our articles on the methods of chemical hair straightening available and the benefits (and cautions) associated with each method.

Hope this helps,
