Pink Bottom Layers?

by Chels

I have brown hair that goes just barely below my shoulders. It's side parted with long side-swept bangs that reach my ears.
I bought Pink Splat hair dye, which is supposed to be hot pink, and plan on dying just the bottom layer of my hair with it.
First of all, how much hair should I dye? (Below my ears, halfway up my ears, at the top of me ears?)
Secondly, should I put a thin highlight in my bangs?
Thanks!

pink hair...

Make sure you bleach the hair that you want to color before you use the pink. Otherwise you'll barely notice it. This page on punk hair color explains the process of getting a bright, long-lasting haircolor.

Color from below the ears if you don't want to see the pink in the side sections. If you do want the sides colored, lighten from about the temple down (swooping lower behind the ears). A thin section in the underside of the fringe might be nice if your hair is thick, if it's thin and the fringe is really thin, maybe not.

All the best,
