so i have naturally dark brown hair but for a couple of years now i have been dying it out of a box blonde, i have had no issues except for i would like a prettier looking color blonde and i heard that if i get it professionally dyed my roots will not start to show so fast. well when i go in will they just think of that as a regular dye job or will it be corrective coloring?

I have no idea where you have heard that your roots won't show as fast if you have your hair professionally colored. Hair growth remains the same and unless you have the professionals color your hair closer to your natural color, you won't notice any changes. Highlighting your hair can make roots less noticable because the base of your hair will most likely be close to your natural color.

Corrective color is when results are from improper application/formulations. In essence, the color and possible the porosity is pretty messed up. Roots show up because of normal hair growth. Since you have been coloring/lightening your hair yourself, I think you are wise to go to a professional. Make sure you give her the information on the brand and type of "box" applications you have been using. This will help the colorist tremendously. I applaud your choice to place your head in the hands of a professional.

the difference a professional would do is maybe change the tone of your blonde if you are already using the lightest blonde. the time roots show up will not change. if you want to change the color of blonde because you are bored, try doing your roots yourself and then going to a professional for highlights on top of your own color. that would take your blonde to another lighter level. you would save money by doing your own box color and having a professional do your highlights. ask the pro about the tone of your home job.he or she should be honest with you and understand if you do it yourself to save money.
