Receding Hairline plus Curls and Frizz. I need help!

Hey all,

After years of enjoying curly hair with no obvious appearance of a receding hairline, I'm losing that ability. I've read a lot on various hairstyles for receding hairlines, the problem is, my hair/face just doesn't fit most of them. I've had a lot of problems finding a good hair stylist, which I've almost given up on. My hair also gets somewhat frizzy and the front part is always problematic.

I use Tres Semme Shampoo, and a separate Tres Semme Conditioner, I try to shampoo every 2 days, which is what I read was recommended.

Styling my hair, I typically use Crew Hold Lotion or Aussie Insta-Freeze spray. I really don't know the first thing about combing, styling, or anything, I normally let my stylist do that but now I can't seem to find someone who knows what they're doing well enough to help.

Picture 1 - what my hair used to look like a year and a half ago, slight receding hairline present (not sure if it's possible to get it back to that state? Would like to know, I loved how this looked! A stylist did this.)

Any advice on styles, products, anything, would be very appreciative, preferrably without raking up a huge price tag either! :)
