My son recently helped his younger brother decorate his hair with tree sap. Ugh. So, I did a web search for suggestions to remove tree sap from hair. I read several (peanut butter, mayonnaise, etc).
Then I read that pine oil can work and thought of the tea tree oil in my cupboard. It seemed logical that if pine oil would work, so would tea tree oil. And frankly, the idea of rubbing an essential oil through the hair seems so much more dignified than peanut butter. So I gave the tea tree oil a whirl and it works like magic to remove sap from hair!
Just drip a few drops onto the sappy areas and gently work it with your fingers. The sap will literally dissolve! Once all the sap has been removed, comb through with a fine-toothed comb and shampoo twice afterwards, using hot water. Then use a good moisturizing conditioner.
Here's another way to use tea tree oil!
