Removing jazzing

My daughter had colored her hair light blond, and then she did fuchsia plumb highlights, which she hates. Any idea how to remove the unwanted highlights?

The simplest way to get that color out is to weave out the plum colored pieces and apply a bleach lightener, then wrap the sections up in foils and let it process for a short spell, until the plum pigments fade.

It's hard to say whether it will all come out... depends on the condition of the hair and the strength of the product you used, but it should lift out fairly well. (And who knows.. your daughter may like a light pink-ish shade with the blonde) Use your own discretion in deciding how far to lighten it, but don't leave it too long, especially if the hair is already damaged.

Once it's faded enough, wash out the bleach and use a toner if there are unwanted hints of pink left. Something in a mid-blonde (semi-permanent) would be good.

jazzing is like sebastion cellophanes. They are polymer dyes and create a plasticized coating on the cuticle of the hair. Windex will get it out due to the ammonia content and although it sounds harsh it works. Picked this info up in one of the Trade SEcrets Of an expert colorist books written by David Velasco.
