Sick of plain hair

I have blonde hair that is layered but not very heavily. I'm not the person who doesn't like to stand out and i wanna do something different with my hair. At first i was thinking about putting black underneath but everyone is doing that. Now im thinking bout putting red on top and leaving blonde underneath on the bottom. Do you think that would look good? If so, should I make the blonde look like peek-a-boo highlights?

Maybe put the red on the bottom. That would look good too.

It probably also could be you need to boost your haircolour instead of just changing it. Or go one shade darker. make-up plays a very vital role in perking your hair shade and the way you feel. Go just darker at the sides or under with a little on top.
