Straight asian hair, want side swept bangs

I have straight asian hair and I really want those volumized side swept bangs but my hair just doesn't do that. It just lies flat to the side. How can i get the bangs i want?

asian hair with side swept bangs

Have the hairstylist give you side swept bangs at whatever length you want (I recommend you have them cut it so that the shortest part reaches to the corner of the opposite side when slightly pulled over). Then you need to train your hair and this is easy: either use a blow dryer and small round brush to sweep it to the side you want (use the brush to pull the bangs towards the intended direction of sweep and blow dry in the direction of the hair shaft). Use hair spray to hold it in place. Initially, this may make you break out and irritate your forehead if you've never had bangs before.

Another way is to roll your bangs up (dried or towel dried) in a soft larger roller at the angle of the sweep and leave it on for ten or more minutes (depending on how trained your bangs are). Then pull it out (pulling is better than unraveling as it makes the hair go downward instead of being full of volume at the base) and using a bit of water on your fingers, sweep the bangs into place and quickly use hairspray to hold it in place.

I know this works because I am also asian and had gotten side swept bangs for the first time and didnt know how i could pull it off since I never had bangs before. Also, I really dont like blow drying my hair because it really damages it, so I found that the soft roller could quickly train my bangs. Using hairspray is a must to keep your bangs in place and I think it also helps your hair remember where to go after you shampoo it and it dries with the roller in it!

you'll love the side swept bangs! I think it looks great and refreshing for all faces.
