Straightening hair after bleaching streaks?

I just got my hair bleached in streaks yesterday, my hair was blackish brown, but now it is that color with auburn streaks in it. I have auburn in my hair, so they lightened it to that color (they did not bleach it then dye it, they just lightened it).
Since I got that done, is it okay to straighten it with my straightener? Will it cause bad breakage?
I am using Biolage Color therapy shampoo and conditioner.

Just Use A Little Caution
by: Donna in Ct.

You should be able to use any heated appliance, as usual, but take a few precautions to keep your hair healthy. First, be sure to use a good prep product. A good one is Iron Smooth by Matrix, but any good thermal hair protectant will work well. Then, take care to run small sections through your straightener, and keep it moving.Do not clamp the iron down too tightly on the hair as you run it through. The biggest problem I see, as a stylist, with people that use straighteners, is taking too big of a section and leaving the iron on too long. This is what usually produces breakage. Also, make sure the hair is thoroughly dry before you start, unless you have a good wet-to-dry iron.(I do not recommend the use of that type.)

Thank you so much.
