You will need to use a color with an orange base to counteract the blue. Why, oh why, don't people go to a competent hair colorist before they mess them selves up?

Why we don't go to a stylist
by: Anonymous

We don't go to a stylist because we don't have 100 bucks to spend.

if you dont wanna spend a hundred bucks, go to a cosmetology school where students are supervised by licensed stylists and you will not walk out with blue hair. services are very reasonable.

Garnier Ash Blonde turned hair blue
by: Anonymous

It is too bold of you to say that. Why would Loreal/Garnier sell hair colourants for people to do at home?????? The instructions are clear and were followed precisely. A hairdresser friend (living 250miles away) has advised me what to do, unfortunately she was out last evening. Google it and you will see how many have had problems with this product!!!!!!

Salons make mi$take$, too
by: Anonymous

I,too, just paid close to $200 for base color and highlights which are now a grayish-blue color after the stylist applied a toner. I usually do my own hair and always get compliments, but wanted to treat myself to a salon visit for a change. BIG mistake. I tried to tell her I thought the toner was too deep, I usually use a Clairol Pro Creme in 10a and have never had any icky color issues. Now my once cool-vanilla highlights look like pewter. I am going to wash with a clarifying shampoo to see if it will lighten up. I am so aggravated.

Time something was done to rectify?

Don't Garnier read this? Surely there is something sadly wrong with their product? Can they imagine how much distress they have caused for women across the world?? Its disgraceful !

Lavender!
by: Blue in Greensboro

I too used that brand in Ash Blonde and it made my hair blue! It's a seriously weird gray/lavender right now and it looks laughable. I always use their products because of how much it moisturizes but this is just sad. - and so am I! I have to go see all of my family for Thanksgiving with blue hair ... we should at least get our money back!

Movida is a hair color product from garnier that helps to enhance the natural beauty and shade of the hair while keeping undercover the grey and white growth of hair. If you are interested in going in for a formula that guarantees soft and silky texture of hair along with a natural looking color shade, try Movida.

blue hair ...heck
by: skye

Well I wish I would have read these posts before I used
Garnier Ash blond. I have slowly worked my hair from dark red to a nice light blond over a few months using loreal products. I looked good. I had used a light ash bond by loreal on my last color to get rid of the last of the reddish tint. It was a success. Now it was time to do the roots. I thought I'd try garnier... Disaster... my hair is now a bluish grey. I am furious!!!!! Don't use garnier. I have colored my own hair for years. From Blond to red and back this is the first time that I have had such a disaster. !!!!! I have never been happy with a salon color job and don't want to get one now!!! Besides not having any money to do so. What to do besides say a lot of bad words and cry!!!!!

THE REAL REASON
by: Anonymous

Yes, salons are expensive; there is NOTHING WRONG with DIY HAIR!!! You just have to take the time to know what you're doing, use as professional level colors as you can get your hands on (this means NO BOX COLOR!!! E-V-E-R!!!), NEVER coloring the day/night before something important (especially since you can't always know how your hair is going to react), ALWAYS DO A STRAND TEST FIRST, understand your hair's coloring history (old dyes will alter future colorings!!) and always have a box of Colorfix, Colorzap, and a low-peroxide (10-volume)demi or semi permanent in a suitable (flattering color to your skintone) to redo your hair immediately afterwards if anything goes wrong. Good luck!

Dark ash blonde
by: Anonymous

This is my first time using Garnier Belle Color. I just finished my hair using Garnier Dark Ash Blonde. I was reading all your comments while I was waiting for it to process. You had me quite worried as to how it would turn out. I am happy to say my hair is the color it is supposed to be.
Phew! That was a long 20 minutes wondering if my hair would end up blue.

Why we don't want to salon it!
by: Anonymous

Being a beauty therapist, I am a big believer in knowing that the operator (the hairdresser) knows best. And I also know the way that these kind of people talk about their clients. I would love to go to a salon to do my hair, but I am sick to death of a hairdresser telling me that; my hair is in poor condition; I have split ends and need to cut most of my hair off; and more recently that my colour isn't good enough! It makes me feel awful! I am too embarrassed if I have done a bad job to go to any salon!

Ganier hair products
by: Anonymous

I almost got the Ganier recently, so glad I did not! The brand I did get recommends a strand test every time before you color. I almost didn't do it because it requires cut a small piece of your hair, but in the end I was really glad I did it because it gave me an idea of what color I was going to get (since the box is never quite right). You just snip a small piece of your hair from the darkest place on your head near the scalp, where it won't be missed. Then tape the cut ends together, mix up a tiny bit of the color and dye just that piece to see what you get. I've found that this is a great help to avoid major hair disasters, such as blue hair. Yes, I had to cut a small piece of my hair, but I took it from the underneath of my hair, so no one can even tell that I did it. It was definitely worth it. Hope this helps :)

why your hair turned ble
by: Anonymous

the reason your hair turned blue is because you left the color in too long. the dye had a blue hue to in: which cancels out the gold tones to your hair: pretty much like a toner. if you bleach your hair constantly, your hair becomes porous, which means it absorbs color very quickly. thus, your hair absorbed the dye too quickly and made it blue. the blue will fade out as you shampoo.

Thank you for your last comment. That's all I wanted to know-If I wash it, will it lighten the blue or do I need to re-dye? Thank you for answering that question...

Blue eys and Hair
by: Heartbroken

I used the Garniner White Chocolate on my hari last night and it turn blue. After calling their hotline I washed my hair about 10 time and this morning its a silver/lavendar/blue. I did not leave it on longer than it said. I think they should send me a check to rectify this mess. Seems like there are a lot of problems with this product. Maybe a class action law suit!!!!
