Platinum blonde
by: Michelle

Hi Jenny,

It is possible, regardless of what color you're starting with. But it'll be very damaging to your hair. You'll need to have all of the pigment bleached out of it. Most likely, your stylist is hesitant about performing this level of bleaching. With the highlights you currently have, there could be issues with those pieces because they've already been processed more than the other hair. This will make it difficult to get an even, all-over platinum blonde without those pieces becoming over-processed and extremely damaged.

A better option may be to have your hair foiled to a very light blonde. This way the colorist can weave out pieces that will process more evenly and prevent this issue. The effect wouldn't be quite the same as an all-over platinum blonde, but it would be close, while maintaining the integrity of the hair.

All the best,
Michelle
